A visit to my favorite doc

I'm so lucky that my cousin is a doctor and I was able to see her about my allergies. She's an emergency room doctor at a hospital close to Tiananmen Square. She prescribed me some more antibiotics and what I believe is the same as Claritin, just spelled differently. The Chinese hospital system is very different from the US. Several doctors are crammed into one office and it's very rare to find a private patient room. I remember the last time I went to the dermatologist here in Beijing, I walked in to the doctor's office to the sight of a man with his pants down showing the doc something on his penis. When the doctor saw me, she quickly shut the door in my face. Privacy in Chinese hospitals? Not much. But the good thing is that you never have to make an appointment. If you're sick, just go to the hospital and take a number and you're guaranteed to be seen.
