No, I am not related to my husband
As unique as the name Yue Xu is, it is a relatively common name in China (especially for boys). My aunt told me the other day that more and more Chinese couples are giving their kids 3 character names, as opposed to 2 characters like mine. This trend is the result of so many duplicate names among Chinese kids. For example, in one class of 30 middle school students, there may be more than 4 kids with the exact same name. And because of so little variety in names, many end up dating or even marrying someone with the same name. While many are giving their children unique 3 character names, apparently in Hong Kong, the hot trend is 4 character names! Their last name is usually the combination of their parents' last names. Imagine that - I could be Yue Sun Wang Xu. Maybe the Chinese should take a cue from American celebrities and name their kids after fruit, or mythical characters, or obscure body parts.
